Congratulations to the student team behind ‘Cupid,’ the short film just selected for the National Film Festival for Talented Youth (NFFTY).

The festival is coming up in late April in Seattle, and the 40+ Vanderbilt students who worked on the project are understandably excited. VSC was delighted to provide support for the film’s production.

Junior Benedict Ballman, the film’s executive producer, said NFFTY is one of the largest and well-known student festivals in the world. While the team awaits decisions from several other film festivals, it’s too soon for them publicly release ‘Cupid.’ In the meantime, the students are looking head to their next project.

“We caught a bug after creating ‘Cupid,’ and we are already working on ideas and scripts for what we could make during the 2024-25 school year,” said Ballman, who has participated in three VSC organizations: VandyRadio, The Slant humor and satire publication, and Vanderbilt Video Productions. He also serves as a student member of the VSC Board of Directors.

We can’t wait to see what these talented students will do next!
